Selamat Datang !: THE SOOTY – YAMAHA SCORPIO 225 ’08

The Yamaha Scorpio 225 is a staple in the diet of the custom bike in Indonesia. Easy to work with, reliable and carrying that thumper note, it has made many a solid platform for a custom ride. These days, most seem to end up as cafe racer, scrambler, bratstyle or tracker. Same this one, this 2008 Yamaha Scorpio 225 was built with something new look – a vintage looking street tracker with upgraded components. Built for our customer outside Jakarta, this bike has been built for kicking up dust and enjoy for daily riding. This is THE SOOTY that we built from one of popular motorcycle in Indonesia, the result is a bike that spares no coolness, and an owner that now has no spare time thanks to his newfound biking obsession.

The suspension sector is the first step we did, we changed the original front fork with 41mm telescopic from Yamaha Byson. TK Japan 18X2.50 inch wheel combined with Firestone Deluxe Champion 4.00-18 tire, were choose to complete the front. At the rear, we made custom swing arm using 1.25” seamless pipe and changed mono shock suspension to dual shock suspension. For this, we put 360 mm YSS Z-Series rear shock. TK Japan 18X3.00 inch rim was selected to be mated with 4.50X18 Firestone Deluxe Champion tire. “Well, from the beginning I was prefer to use that kind of wheels, to emphasize the ‘classic’ line…”. Here comes the bodywork, a boxy-gas tank with a minimalist style made from 1.2 mm galvanized material plate to be the main body, fenders, and side cover. After the bodywork was done, Komet Studio made his move! We choose mate black from Sikkens and decorated with a gold and silver simply line, The Yamaha was prettify the side tank. Completing the last project, fatbar handlebar was selected to provide ‘the enjoyment of riding’. The Lights was attached to the main shape. ‘Masterpiece-custom’ exhaust was selected to drag up the classic theme with a strong sound.
